THE BLESSING OF ROSARIES
Maddux, Earle H. A Manual for Priests of the American Church: Complimentary to the Occasional Offices of the Book of Common Prayer. Wipf and Stock Publishers, 2004.
V. Our help is in the Name of the Lord.
R. Who hath made heaven and earth.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.
Let us pray.
ALMIGHTY and merciful God, who, out of the wondrous love wherewith thou hast loved us, that thou mightest deliver us from the power of the evil one, didst will that thine only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, should come down upon earth, and at the message of an Angel take flesh from the most holy womb of our Lady, blessed Mary, and undergo the death of the Cross, and on the third day rise gloriously from the dead: we implore thee mercifully to bless+ and sanctify+ these Rosaries, dedicated by thy faithful Church to the honour and praise of the same Mother of thy Son, and to so abundantly pour forth upon them the power of thy Holy Spirit that whosoever shall carry them about their persons, and shall reverently keep them in their houses; and shall devoutly pray unto thee, contemplating the divine mysteries thereupon, may abound in sound and lasting devotion, may at all times, and in all places, be delivered from every foe, visible and invisible, in this present world, and may finally at the hour of death, full of all good works, be found worthy to be presented unto thee. Through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, liveth and reigneth God, world without end. Amen.
And he/she may add this prayer,
O GOD, whose only-begotten Son by his life, death, and resurrection hath purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation: grant, we beseech thee, that meditating upon these mysteries in the holy Rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
